Biology
My qualification in Science (Microbiology) from Mumbai University was my dream come true. During my university years, I hoped to one day work in a lab and venture on research-driven adventures to uncover new things. Unfortunately, that wasn’t in the cards. Instead, I started my career in the marketing department and eventually entered the teaching world. This has been an excellent opportunity for me to grow, both personally and professionally. I have learned and developed my skills, which has enabled me to become a better teacher. I’m proud of the progress I have made and continue to strive. Teaching has helped me grow on a personal level as well as in knowledge.
Teaching and learning. There’s no end to it. Which was totally to my liking! Having taught Biology for over 15 years now there is no looking back now. I started my career with IGCSE Biology, which was more of a learning experience, which attracted my interest. To teach interesting facts, the children learned the language of the text but gained knowledge through research and practical applications.
Later under the guidance of Ms. Priya Fernandes, I took up biology for ICSE students.
More than 15 years down the lane and teaching biology I am just in awe of the subject. It’s a lot of interacting with Gen Z students, understanding them, and assisting with their learning process.
